Thilo Märtin

Thilo Märtin founded MKM + PARTNER together with Stefan Mörtel and Burkhard Krecichwost. His main areas of practice in the field of intellectual property are trademark, design, competition and copyright law. He has been advising companies on data protection for 14 years. He has successfully passed the written exams to become a “Specialist Lawyer for Intellectual Property”.

He is providing consultancy especially in the pharmaceuticals industry as well as to medical software developers and international industrial customers. His counsel focuses on data protection issues, trademark law, competition law and the design of complex data protection management systems.

Mr. Märtin studied law at the Universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Münster and successfully passed both state exams in Bavaria, the first with distinction. He worked as a legal trainee at the Bavarian Data Protection Authority and was an expert for the ULD data protection seal of approval until 2018. In addition, Thilo Märtin works as an author, works with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, DATEV and the Central Association of German Crafts in the context of workshops and seminars on questions of competition, copyright and data protection law. He is a member of the Data Protection Committee of the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI). His clients appreciate him for his openness and pragmatic entrepreneurial approach.

Burkhard Krecichwost

Burkhard Krecichwost is providing consultancy to clients nationwide on commercial and business law issues thereby focusing on design and negotiation of international supply and service contracts. In addition to the law on contracts for supply and services, in particular the special features of plant construction, his other main areas of activity include advice and representation in construction and architectural law, public procurement law, commercial tenancy law as well as advice to creditors under insolvency law and reorganization.

After studying law, Mr. Krecichwost completed his economic training as a lawyer in an interdisciplinary law firm of auditors, tax consultants and lawyers. Since then, he has been providing legal advice to well-known domestic and foreign clients from industry and commerce. He has developed the contractual basis for group-wide, cross-border cash pooling for several listed corporate groups.
In 2003, Mr. Krecichwost successfully passed the written examinations to acquire the title “Specialist Lawyer for Insolvency Law” and since then has been successfully active in the market for corporate reorganization and restructuring, especially in the automotive, furniture and construction market. He held the position of managing partner of a medium-sized national law firm from March 2008 until the foundation of MKM + PARTNER Rechtsanwälte PartmbB. In 2015 he acquired the title of “Specialist Lawyer for Building and Architectural Law” in order to further substantiate his expertise in advising construction companies and engineers in the drafting of complex development and supply contracts.

Since 2016, Burkhard Krecichwost has been a founding partner of MKM + PARTNER Rechtsanwälte PartmbB.

Fabian Dechent

Fabian Dechent is a Equity Partner at MKM + Partner. He advises clients in the fields of intellectual property law and data protection law. In the field of intellectual property rights, the focus is on the development of strategies for the protection of intellectual property, including the defense of intellectual property rights. In the field of data protection, Fabian Dechent is providing consultancy on complex data transfers and projects in the international context.

Fabian Dechent successfully completed his state examinations at the University of Erlangen and the Higher Regional Court Nuremberg and then worked in the legal department of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies. Fabian Dechent has been working for MKM+PARTNER since 2016.

Fabian Dechent is a certified data protection officer (TÜV Rheinland). In 2019, Fabian Dechent successfully passed the written examinations to acquire the title of “Specialist Lawyer for Intellectual Property”.

Ralph Weiss

As a lawyer at MKM + PARTNER, Ralph Weiss is responsible for assisting clients in the area of construction and architectural law. He advises and represents companies, architects as well as public and private clients comprehensively on all issues of construction and architectural law, from the drafting and execution of contracts to the assertion and defence of claims for remuneration and defects in and out of court.

A further focus is on public procurement law. In 2021, Mr Weiss successfully passed the written examinations to acquire the title of “specialist lawyer for public procurement law”. Furthermore, he advises clients on commercial tenancy law and on issues relating to the German Supply Chain Duty of Care Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz).

After studying law at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Mr Weiss completed his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg. He was admitted to the bar in 2011 and became a specialist lawyer for construction and architectural law in 2014. Initially, he worked for a medium-sized law firm and tax advisor in the Regensburg area and subsequently for a law firm specialising in construction and architectural law in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. Mr Weiss has been working for MKM + PARTNER since 2020.

He is a member of the working groups for construction and real estate law and for public procurement law in the German Bar Association (DAV). He is also a member of the German Public Procurement Network (DVNW).

Andree Hönninger

Andree Hönninger is lawyer at MKM + PARTNER. He is providing consultancy in the areas of IT law as well as data protection and corporate law.

He completed his law studies at the University of Jena with honors. After completing his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Bamberg and successfully passing the second state examination, Mr. Hönninger went on to work for an international law firm in corporate law. He then worked as a lawyer in a law firm specialized in media law, where he was particularly responsible for IT law, data protection, intellectual property law and copyright law.

Andree Hönninger has been a specialist lawyer for information technology law since 2011. In addition, he is the author of numerous publications and lecturer at Jurisprudentia for the law course IT-Law as well as for the Bavarian Administrative School (BVS).

Stefan Mörtel

Stefan Mörtel’s main areas of activity are the conception and implementation of company law measures, the implementation of customs and tax procedures, the drafting and elaboration of complex contracts as well as the processing of legal issues in the fields of tax, commercial & company law and information technology.

In particular, providing consultancy on tax and corporate law in the acquisition, merger and restructuring of companies (mergers & acquisitions) are the focus of his legal activities. In addition to these, Stefan Mörtel holds supervisory board mandates in various industries.

After studying law at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Mr. Mörtel was admitted to the bar in Nürnberg in 1994. He then joined an interdisciplinary commercial law firm with auditors, tax consultants and lawyers. Between 1997 and 2002, he headed the Legal Department as a partner. He then became a partner in the nationally operating commercial law firm RMH. Together with his long-time colleague Burkhard Krecichwost and Thilo Martin, he founded MKM + PARTNER at the end of 2015. Stefan Mörtel became a specialist lawyer for tax in 1999. In addition, he successfully passed the written examinations for the title “Specialist Lawyer for Commercial and Corporate Law” in 2006 and the written examinations for the title “Specialist Lawyer for Information Technology Law” in 2007.

 

Jane Hohmann

Jane Hohmann is a lawyer at MKM + Partner. She advises clients in the areas of individual and collective employment law and employee data protection. Her focus is on advising employers and executives.

Ms Hohmann completed her law studies at the University of Greifswald. Already during her studies, Ms Hohmann chose to focus on labour law. After her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Ulm, Ms Hohmann specialised in advising and representing employers and executives in labour law matters and deepened her knowledge in labour law boutiques. Most recently, Ms Hohmann was responsible for advising employers on individual and collective law at a commercial law firm in Munich.

Since 2020, Jane Hohmann has been a specialist lawyer for labour law and since 2022, she has also been a certified data protection officer. In addition, Ms Hohmann has published several specialist articles and an interview and has also worked as a speaker on individual and collective labour law.

Vivien Demuth

Vivien Demuth works as a lawyer at MKM + PARTNER. Her main focus is on commercial and corporate law as well as employment law.

She also provides consultancy to both individuals and companies in matters of commercial and corporate law.

In employment law matters, Vivien Demuth represents both employees and employers in asserting their interests in individual and collective employment law. In the majority of cases, employee data protection is also becoming increasingly important.

Ms. Demuth began her studies in the field of law at the University of Leipzig and, after three years, completed a year of study abroad at the Université Rouen in France. Subsequently, Ms. Demuth successfully passed her first state examination at the University of Heidelberg. During her legal clerkship, she was able to gain practical experience in collective and individual employment law by working for a medium-sized law firm specializing in employment law. After completing her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main, she successfully passed her second state examination in January 2020.

Following her legal traineeship, Vivien Demuth worked for a legal tech company in the area of insurance law before joining MKM + PARTNER.

Susanne Janssen M.A.

Susanne Janssen is a lawyer at MKM + Partner. Her practice focuses on commercial and corporate law.

After studying law at the Universities of Passau and Erlangen-Nuremberg with a focus on international corporate and capital markets law, Ms Janssen completed her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg. She gained international experience during a legal internship at the German Embassy in Moscow and as a trainee lawyer in law firms in Rome and New York City.

Since her admission to the bar in March 2020, she initially worked at a law firm in Nuremberg that was active in a number of legal fields, including corporate law and private international law. She joined MKM + Partner in Nuremberg in October 2022.

Elisa Scherg

Elisa Scherg joined MKM + Partner PartmbB Rechtsanwälte as a lawyer in June 2023. Her focus is on commercial criminal law and preventive criminal law advice.

She advises both private individuals and companies in relevant areas of criminal law in business life. This also includes advice in ancillary areas of criminal law and administrative offences law. Ms Scherg also appears for her clients in court at all instances.

Ms Scherg studied at the Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg and passed her first state examination there. She then completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg and successfully passed her Second State Examination in June 2019.

Ms Scherg was admitted to the bar in September 2019 and most recently worked as a criminal defence lawyer in a medium-sized law firm specialising in general criminal law.

In February 2023, Ms Scherg was awarded the title of specialist lawyer for criminal law by the Nuremberg Bar Association. She has now been working for MKM + Partner PartmbB Rechtsanwälte at the Nuremberg office since June 2023.
